Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show!, which won the Sony Radio Academy Award for Best Sitcom in 2009, ran for seven years on BBC Radio 4 from 2005 to 2012 until the character transferred to his BBC2 TV sitcom.
Komedia Entertainment and Smooth Operations have been commissioned to make the Christmas Special by BBC Radio 4 and the show will feature Count Arthur Strong’s repertory company, which includes Mel Giedroyc, Alastair Kerr, Dave Mounfield and Terry Kilkelly.
A second series of Count Arthur Strong’s TV sitcom was recorded in the early summer this year for BBC 2 and transmission details are expected to be announced in the near future.
